AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Israeli forces opened fire at a Palestinian vehicle at the Huwwara checkpoint in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, on Wednesday noon.
Israeli news sites reported that Israeli soldiers deployed at the checkpoint opened fire at the vehicle, injuring the Palestinian driver; he sustained light to moderate wounds.
Sources added that the Palestinian driver was then detained and transferred to a hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment.
No injuries were reported among Israelis.
The Palestinian Ministry of Civil Affairs confirmed that they were officially informed of the driver's injury, whom they identified as Raed Thiab, 35, from Kafr Qalil village.
The ministry added that he was injured with two bullets in the leg.
Witnesses told Ma’an that the vehicle was parked dozens of meters away from the Huwwara checkpoint, near a transport stop for Israeli settlers.
A Ma’an reporter in Nablus said that Israeli forces sealed off all military checkpoints in front of traffic.
